The challenges facing principals have never been greater. In addition to being instructional leaders and effective building managers, principals must keep up with technology, standards, and rapidly-changing demands on schools. But effective leadership is possible. By learning practical skills based on timeless principles, you can cut through the clutter of today’s education environment and engage the best in all stakeholders.
During the Leader in Me Principal’s Academy blended learning course, you will be introduced to the Whole-Person Paradigm—a foundation for effective leadership—and the 4 Roles of Great Leaders™: Modeling, Pathfinding, Aligning, and Empowering. You will assess your own strengths and areas of improvement. You will learn how to use and apply powerful leadership tools, such as the 4 Disciplines of Execution®, to address chronic problems faced by your school, with time to lay a framework to implement these leadership skills you've developed.
Together Is Better!
Most principals feel that they have far too few opportunities to connect with other principals and learn together. Experts agree that principals need strong peer-support networks. Principal’s Academy is designed to foster collaboration and best-practice sharing. You won’t just listen to a presenter but will actively participate in a learning cycle with other principals that include opportunities for practice and reflection, which will hone your leadership skills.
In this workshop, you will be able to:
Adopt a paradigm of release, not control.
Collaborate with other principals globally.
Align school systems and processes.
Establish a shared school vision among staff.
Engage staff members and unleash talent.
Develop effective leadership skills.
This workshop is for participants who are currently in a formal leadership role in their school or organization (e.g. principal, vice-principal, school owner,).
This is not intended for school staff or teaching staff.
Principal's Academy is a blended learning workshop with an on-demand course and live-online sessions. You must be committed to completing all pre-work and attending all 5 virtual sessions.
